Mrs. Maureen Lussier, age 90, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, November 16, 2025, at Notre Dame Long Term Care in Worcester, MA. She was born March 7, 1935, in Milford, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Michael and Muriel Hannigan.
Maureen had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She was lucky enough over the course of her life to visit all 50 states as well as many countries outside the U.S. across 4 continents. She was a long-time member of the Sierra Club and took many hiking trips over the years, with a particular love of the Pacific Northwest. She especially loved birds and could identify most by their song. Also an avid reader, she was known to get lost in a good book.
Maureen attended St. Mary's School in Milford, MA. She built a successful and fulfilling career with W.L.M. Bensdorp Cocoa Company, where she worked for 31 years, and was thrilled to attend the company's 150th anniversary in the Netherlands. After she retired, she relocated to Florida, where she volunteered in the local community. She often made the road trip to Massachusetts to visit her family.
She shared her love of adventure with her children and grandchildren, creating experiences that would become lifelong memories for her and them. She took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren; it was important to her to be a part of all of their milestones.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Constant Lussier, son David, and daughter Muriel. She is survived by daughter Roberta White of Upton, and granddaughters Emily White of Boston and Rebekah Rosenberg of Hudson.
