I think of Maureen each time I wear the beautiful bracelet that she and Pat brought me from St. Thomas. She was the most thoughtful person ever, and as Pat always said, she never met a person who she didn't buy a gift for. Although I didn't know her well, it was so very heartwarming to see how much love she and Pat shared, and the beautiful family they raised. The world lost "one of the good ones" when she passed.

With Maureen's untimely passing, the world lost a wonderful, compassionate and brilliant woman. Maureen Monaghan was one of the most inspiring people with whom I ever had the pleasure of crossing paths. When working with her beloved husband Pat at Beattie Padovano, I spoke to her on the phone several times, and marveled at her many talents: she was a wonderful mother, a great cook, an ace at Jeopardy, extremely thoughtful and generous (as Pat would say "Maureen Monaghan never met a person she didn't buy a gift for") and - most of all - a saint in that she put up with Pat for all those years (that's a joke - he's great - but if he reads this he will know that I could not pass up the change to make a crack). Her legacy will live on through all the people whose lives she touched, from her own children to the children she guided as an educator, and likely anyone who had the good fortune to meet her, even for a brief moment. Sending prayers and love to the Monaghan family.

We remember Maureen fondly and we still can't believe that she left so suddenly. She always had such a warm and welcoming smile every time we would take our family to visit. She will be missed dearly.

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Maureen's death. I first met her when our children, my first, her twins (6th and 7th children) were entering kindergarten. Neither of us was in favor of full day kindergarten
(we were on the minority); and I was so impressed that after having so many kids she still was not anxious to have them in school all day. These kids are now almost 40 but the conversation stuck with me. I later became a teacher in River Vale and she'went on to become a guidance counselor. She was a caring and devoted mother and grandmother, sharing stories about her kids and grandkids. I am so sad for her family that she just retired and would have had more free time but her life ended too soon. I hope their faith, family and friends, along with good memories, will help them through this most difficult time. With love, Meryl

I was so saddened to hear of Maureen's passing. She was a wonderful lady. I have many happy memories of bringing 5th graders to Holdrum's middle school orientation and visiting with Maureen. She was a caring and warm-hearted guidance counselor and really knew how to make kids feel comfortable. On a personal level, every conversation with her revealed how much she loved her own children, her husband, and family. She will be missed. You are in my prayers.

It was such a pleasure knowing Maureen during my time at Holdrum Middle School. She was the sweetest and most helpful person I had the good fortune to work with. We shared many stories of our families, which were the most important and precious parts of our lives.
May your memories sustain you at this very difficult time. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
With deepest sympathy,
Terri Griggs
