Maureen Royal

Maureen F. Royal, age 83, of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at her residence in Concordia Village of Tampa. Maureen was born on February 8, 1941, in Albany, New York, to J. Russell and Evelyn Fox. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Holy Names High School in Albany, New York, and Michigan State University, earning a Master of Science in biology. Maureen taught at Tampa Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida, and worked as the Director of Zoology in the Education Department at Busch Gardens in Tampa.
Maureen was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Royal and brother Martin Fox. She is survived by her brother John R. Fox (Melissa), stepsons Kent Royal (Kathi) and Steve Royal (Kim), grandchildren Sean Royal, Stephanie Royal and Sheyanne Edling, great-grandchildren Brysen and Nolen, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
A Roman Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at the Chapel in Concordia Village of Tampa, 4100 E. Fletcher Ave., Tampa, Florida, on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 A.M, with a reception following the service.
