Maureen Wich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home on Feb. 3, 2026.
Maureen Margaret Wich, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, at the age of 85.

Maureen was born on August 20, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Thomas and Cecilia Howe. On April 30, 1960, she married the love of her life, Kenneth J. Wich, with whom she shared many years of devotion until his passing.

She was a loving sister to Pamela (Robert) Stoltz and the late Thomas Howe.

Maureen was a devoted mother to Rhonda Wich, Kimberly (Craig) Humann, and Kenneth (Johnna) Wich. Aunt to Robert (Jody) Stoltz and Stepanie (Robert) Schader.

She was a cherished grandmother to Charles (Laura) Nelson, the late Daniel Nelson, John Wich, and Garrett Wich; a step-grandmother to Joseph Humann and Matthew (Rachel) Humann; and a great step-grandmother to Joseph Jr. Humann, Madison (Pat) Keller, and Ashley (Nico) Columbo.

Maureen's greatest joy was her family. She loved attending baseball games-especially cheering on the Cubs and Brewers-visiting the casino, and spending time surrounded by those she loved. She dedicated many years to raising her children at home and generously volunteered her time helping with youth baseball and youth soccer.

As her children grew older, Maureen returned to the workforce, where she worked at a florist, Bran's Nut Company, and later Walmart, from which she retired.

Maureen will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her steady presence, and the love she gave so freely. She leaves behind a legacy of family, kindness, and memories that will be cherished forever.
