Maureen Wilson, 86, of Whitesboro, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 19, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on January 30, 1936 in Jersey City, NJ, a daughter of the late Harold and Lilian (Flanagan) Myers, Sr. Maureen graduated from Dickinson High School in Jersey City, NJ. On September 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to George Wilson at St. John's Church in Jersey City, NJ and shared a blessed union of 65 years.
Maureen truly loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved having a variety of pictures of her great grandchildren lining her kitchen counter where she could see them every day.
Beloved by all that knew her, she made many lifelong friends. She especially enjoyed all the people she worked with at the former Hook Line and Sinker Restaurant, where she served as hostess, bookkeeper and fill in manager for many years.
Her husband George's favorite expression was "Having Maureen in my life was the greatest gift anyone could ask for. To know her, was to love her."
Surviving are her husband, George, Whitesboro; daughter, Janet (Thomas) Burton, Syracuse; son, Russ Wilson,Clinton; grandchildren, Kelly (Erik) Dunn and Carolyn (Zachary) Adams; 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Catherine Rondholz and brothers, Rev. Edward Myers and Harold Myers.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral services on Tuesday, May 30th at 11:30 am from St. Paul's Church, Whitesboro, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 10 – 11 am at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Remembrances in Maureen's name may be made to a charity of your choice.
