Maurice McCain Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 17, 2013.
On Thursday, January 17, 2013 our beloved son, brother, and friend to all he ever met, was tragically taken from us.
Maurice "Reece" McCain, 25, of Oak Hill, WV, was born January 19, 1987 in Beckley. "Reece" was the son of Fannie Mae Gray and Phillip Lamont Gray also of Oak Hill, WV. Other than his dear parents, his loving sisters, Shanice McCain , and Leslie Hughes survived him in death.
Maurice "Reece" grew up in Oak Hill and attended Oak Hill High School. There he excelled in Football and graduated in 2005. He went on to attend Marshall University and took a job working with special needs adults through ResCare. Reece had a strong relationship with God believing in the word of The Bible and daily prayer.
To all that knew him, Reece was always there to lend a helping hand, give his time, and help others in any way he could. He was very passionate about fashion, shoes, and music. He always knew the latest and the greatest.
His grandparents Perry Smith, Annie Bell McCain, Lee Phillip Gray, and Carolyn Gray preceded Maurice in death.
Maurice cherished the time he spent with his large family and many friends. Besides his immediate family, his aunts Brenda Brooks, Sharon McCain, Shirley Gray, uncle Gregory Gray, as well as a host of cousins and special friends survived him in death.
Maurice referred to many of his friends as his brothers and sisters. He spent countless hours with his "little buddy" Dietrick Penn and his second family, Jillian and Mon Lynch. The family would like to mention some of Reece's precious friends; Daryl Vaughn, Daemian Thompson, Marqueese Milstery, Jonathan Fruit, Dewayne Hopkins, Mike Rose, and Neil Woodson, Robert and Wesley Lee, Tammy Jones, Tina Stevenson, Patrice McMillan, Christina "Teenie" Michael, Shayla Lynch, Erica Hartman, Annie, Nuka, and Mya Mickey. Reece was loved by too many people to name, but in your heart, you know who you are
Reece's Legacy will forever live on in the many hearts of the people whose lives he touched with his thoughtfulness, laughter, and unconditional love. Rest in Heaven, our Sweet Boy, you are home with your Lord now.
