Mr. Maurice Christopher Smith

Maurice Christopher Smith, 42, was called home on December 22, 2025, in Austell, Georgia.

Maurice was born on May 23, 1983, to Maurice Smith Jr. and Christine Smith, in Long Beach, California. He was a 2001 graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, California. Maurice was a hard worker; he worked diligently for several years as a forklift driver at Americo Ltd.

Maurice enjoyed weightlifting, eating fast food, looking at martial arts movies, playing video games, and spending time with his daughters. You can often find him joking and playing childhood games with his loved ones. Although Maurice grew up with several cousins, he had

an unbreakable bond with cousins Fred and Kevin Williams. It was not uncommon to find him at his favorite Auntie Alice's house on 12th Street for several days at a time. He was taught at a young age by his parents to respect his elders, and he never showed disrespect to all that met

him, even as an adult. You could often see Maurice driving down the street, he loved playing his music loud while driving. He was a very humble individual, never asking for anything but was

willing to give you his last. The highlight of his childhood years was spent with his big sister, Veronica. He was often with her on outings with friends, track practices, and yes, even dates, which earned him the nickname of "Bugar." He allowed everyone to call him this until the age of 11. As an adult, Maurice and his big brother Larry would often get together and talk for hours. He will be greatly missed by his Auntie Alice, who has always provided a home away

from home for him. Maurice had a very loving relationship with his parents and loved them dearly until his departure from life.

He is survived by his loving parents, Maurice and Christine Smith, his adoring daughters,

Ayanna, Nora, and Elise, grandson, Azir Phillips, brother, Larry White, sister, Veronica Connell, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties and uncles. They will always remember his unwavering presence and the comfort he brought to their lives.

Maurice was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Hattie Smith and his maternal grandmother Mentha Heard, brother Maurice George Smith III, sisters Angela Smith and Mauricia Smith, and mother of his youngest daughters, Edgwinna Johnson.
