On the 2nd of February in the late hours of the evening, Mauricio Garzon passed away peacefully at the age of 62. Mauricio was born in Bogota, Colombia January 17, 1960. He was the second and last child born from Elvia Castenada de Garzon and Roberto Garzon. In his early youth he attended San Bartolomé de la Merced School and would later go on to graduate from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana with a degree in accounting where he made lifelong friends.
He met his wife Cristina in Bogota in 1978 at a flower shop across the street where he lived that was owned by her mother. They married in 1986 and shortly after gave birth to two children, Roberto and Zammy Garzon. From 1999 to 2002, Mauricio brought his family to Venezuela where he worked as a General Manager for a casino company. Seeking better opportunities for his family, Mauricio would eventually move his family to the United States where he would pursue his career in accounting.
His hobbies included squash, racket ball, and tennis. He was an avid runner who competed in several half marathons. He had a passion for traveling with dreams of seeing the wondrous beauty of the world with his family. He was an exceptional cook, but most importantly he was a dedicated husband, father, brother, friend, and person.
