Max Robert Godfrey Sr.

Max Robert Godfrey, Sr., 78, of Cary, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020. Max was born on August 26, 1941 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to Lucille Florence Keziah Pleasants and the late Paul Meggs Godfrey. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Cary. Max will be lovingly remembered by his three sons, Max Robert Godfrey, Jr. and his wife Kelly, of Apex; Jamie Glenn Godfrey and his partner, Amanda, of Ooltewah, TN; and Daniel Finley Godfrey and his partner, Larisa, of Cary. Max will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Allison, Kimberly, Brandon, Austin, Justin, Leah and Alisa, and his first great grandchild Londyn, due in July; and his mother, Lucille, and his siblings, Susan Hayes and Russ Yandle, and his ex-wife, Patricia. Max was preceded in death by his father, Paul and his brother, Jeff Yandle. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00pm at First Baptist Church, 218 South Academy Street, Cary, North Carolina, 27511. Family will receive friends at 12:00pm at the church prior to the service.
