Max Dwight Huntsinger Sr. of Duncan, Oklahoma left this world on May 24, 2025. He was preceded in death to the heavenly kingdom by his wonderful wife, Nancy Lou, and his mother and father. He leaves behind his lovely kids (Tina Daffron, Teresa Hyde, and Max D. Huntsinger Jr., along with his stepdaughter, Debra Sager and stepson, Bobby Sager), as well as 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and his two dogs (Lucy & Princess).
Born in Elwood, Indiana, on December 22, 1937, Max entered this world with his twin brother Rex, and with the help of a strong, loving family became a caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
On his journey, Max made countless friends and could always be counted upon to pull a good-natured practical joke, or to go fishing or be a good hunting buddy. Max entered into the United States Air Force back on 11 January 1956 where he had countless positions working on a variety of fighter aircraft and some transport aircraft engines. He deployed to Asia, the Far East and went to locations such as Nakon Phanom AFLD, Thailand, Tan Son Nhut AB, RVN, Naha AB, Okinawa just to name a few, while being assigned to Air Defense Command (ADC) where, in 1964, it became the Strategic Air Command (SAC).
He met his lovely wife (Nancy) in Panama City, Florida while stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. Over the next several years, deployments, and happy returns, they had three adorable kids who were all born at Tyndall AFB, Florida. In 1975, Max and his family transferred to the 87th Fighter Interceptor Sq. "Red Bulls", K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan (now deactivated) to eventually end his career and retire after 20 years and 20 days of honorable and creditable service to our country. Max and his family decided to settle down in Duncan, Oklahoma to raise his kids and retired for the second time from Firestone Tire and Sales.
Graveside services are planned for 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 30, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, just north of Duncan, Oklahoma with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating. The family will be accepting visitors at Whitt Funeral Home, Thursday, May 29, from 5:00-6:00 pm. Serving as pallbearers are Jon Daffron, Michael Daffron, Randy Hyde, Ryan Hyde, Mike Daffron, and Bobby Sager.
