Last time I saw Max was last year at his SACHS 60th class reunion. Great time catching up. Max will be missed by all who knew him. He was a gentle giant. RIP Max, as you may be gone, but not forgotten. Prayers and condolences to his family.

Max was a good running buddy with the Road Lizards, it was an honor to get to run behind him and all the good runners. He was in my thoughts this last week remembering him and wondering if you all still lived on Threeawn Street. Then to see that he had passed away was a surprise. I am sorry to hear this news. Love for you Mary and your family. Rita McWhorter

To Gene and family: I am sorry I will not be able to be there to honor Max but those we hold in our hearts never leave us; they live on in the memories we shared...like being in your wedding, getting our commissions in the Marines together, and visiting several times after Marines. Max was a wonderful person who I was lucky enough to call a friend. My Prayers, my Thoughts and my Love are with you all. Ronnie Waller
