Max Gottlob Wenz, a cherished member of the Glen Head community, passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on July 15, 1930, in Jamaica, NY, Max lived a life filled with love, family, and commitment to his passions.

He was the devoted husband of the late Lambarta Wenz, who predeceased him after 63 wonderful years of marriage. Max was a proud Marine veteran, having served as a 1st Lieutenant. His service to his country reflected his loyalty and courage, values he carried throughout his life.

Max was not only a successful businessman, owning the beloved G. Wenz and Son Jewelry Company in New York but also a dedicated family man. He is survived by his loving daughter Karen Wenz, his son Carlton (Diane) Wenz, and cherished grandchildren: Courtney, Andrew, Danielle (Jimmy), Stefanie (David), and Eric. He also leaves behind a great-grandson, James Lorenzo. Max is also predeceased by his mother, Helene Wenz, and father, Gottlob Wenz, along with his dear sister, Helen Rieger.

Max found joy in nurturing his yard, and he was passionate about the outdoors. He also enjoyed playing golf and tennis, sharing these pastimes with friends and family. Known for his kindness and nurturing spirit, he was a loving “dog father” to Jackson, his faithful companion.

Max's life will be celebrated at Whitting Funeral Home, scheduled for Friday, October 3, 2025, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM. His funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Whitting Funeral Home.

Max Gottlob Wenz will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. His legacy of love, resilience, and dedication to family and friends will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
