Funeral services for Maxie Ola Bagby, 87, of Burleson, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home, located at 512 N Ridgeway Dr, Cleburne, TX 76033 with Pastor Larry D. Hunter officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M. in Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Colleyville, Texas. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
Maxie Ola Bagby, a beloved figure in her community, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025, in Burleson, Texas. Born on June 29, 1937, in Prescott, Arkansas, she led a life filled with love, compassion, and generosity, nurturing all those around her.
Maxie was a devoted wife to Donald C. Bagby, with whom she shared many cherished moments. Together, they created a warm and inviting home that welcomed friends and family alike. As a mother, she embraced her role wholeheartedly. Known for her culinary talents, Maxie was a great cook who delighted in preparing meals that brought joy to family gatherings. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her beautiful yard and the vibrant flowers that adorned her garden, a testament to her green thumb and passion for nurturing plants.
A lifelong Christian, Maxie lived her faith through her actions, embodying a spirit of kindness and compassion. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and loved, often referred to as a "mother to all" by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Donald C Bagby; her son, Gregory J. Bagby, and wife, Misty; grandson, Timothy J. Bagby, wife, Rica; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Maxie is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Clifton Clayton Bagby.
Maxie Bagby's legacy of love, nurturing, and faith will leave an indelible mark on all whose lives she touched, and she will be dearly missed by family and friends.
