Ms. Maxie Marie “Mickey” Robison, age 79, of Dalton, departed this life Monday morning, March 2, 2026, at the local hospital.
Mickey was born on June 28, 1946, in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late Archie Lee and Rheta Minnie Kelley Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold “Dude” Gentry; her grandfather, William Stinson; her brothers and sister-in-law, Archie Taylor, Alvin and Evelyn Taylor, and Billy Stinson; and her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Stinson Lynn and Jake Lynn.
A faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Mickey loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all her heart. She never missed an opportunity to share with others about His saving grace. Her faith was not only spoken but lived out daily through her kindness, generosity, and servant’s heart. She shared a special bond with her pastor, Doctor Edward Hoggs, and deacon, Mike Whitner, whom she loved dearly.
Mickey retired from Norville Industries after more than twenty-five years of dedicated service. Outside of work, her greatest joy was caring for others. She expressed her love most often through her cooking—especially her baking. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, welcome, and fellowship. Whether it was a family gathering, a church event, or simply someone in need of a good meal, Mickey was always ready to prepare something special.
She had a beautiful way of putting others before herself. There was a time when close friends lost their home in a house fire, and without hesitation, Mickey opened her own home to them, allowing the family to live with her until their house could be rebuilt. This was the kind of person she was—selfless, compassionate, and always thinking of others first.
She also found joy in working in her yard, tending to her flowers and enjoying God’s creation. But more than anything, she treasured her family and friends, whom she loved deeply and faithfully.
Mickey is survived by her daughter, Donna Gentry; granddaughter, Jillian Nichole “Jill” Jackson and husband Eddie Jackson; great-granddaughter, Jileya Alayne Jackson; sister-in-law, Jeanelle Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by special friends whom she considered family: Wendy and Jeff Townsend, Lane and Reba Jackson, Vanessa Jackson, Tammie and Ralph Willis special grandchildren, Destiny Moore, Andrew Bonds, Job Willis, Taylor Willis, Willow McClain, Wren McClain, and Lauren Mariney; and special neighbors, Vanessa Rivas and Daniel Moreno.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Maxie Marie “Mickey” Robison will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Edward Hogg, and Eddie and Jill Jackson speaking. She will be laid to rest at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Mike Whitener, Scotty Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Lane Jackson, Armondo Luna, and Daniel Moreno honored to serve as pallbearers. Waymond McDade will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
Mickey’s life was a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love—given freely, shared generously, and lived faithfully. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and unwavering love that will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew her.
