Funeral services for Evangelist Maxine Garcia of East Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Mitchell Grove Baptist Church, 78 Mitchell Grove Church Road in Wrightsville, Georgia. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Maxine was born on Saturday, August 4, 1945, to Ella Lee Clover and Willie Clover, Sr., in Wrightsville, Georgia. She moved to Miami, Florida, after graduating from Dock Kemp High School in 1965. She met and married the late Wilson Pearson. They had three children, the late Tonya Pearson, the late Wilson Pearson, Jr., and Alicia (Bobby) Williams. In 1977, Maxine gave her life to God and became a Missionary of the House of Prayer Apostolic Faith. She retired from Dade County Public Schools. She continued her education and received a Doctorate in Theology and Marriage Counseling in 2013 at the Jacksonville Theological Seminary.
In 2003, Maxine met and married her final love, Carlos Garcia. She returned to Dublin, Georgia and continued her ministry under the leadership of Pastor Ricky Stanley. Evangelist Garcia continued to teach nations with Christian Women Rock Ministry.
Evangelist Garcia passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025. She was preceded in death by two children, Wilson Pearson, Jr. Tonia Pearson and her first husband, Wilson Pearson, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories a daughter, Alicia (Bobby) Williams, seven grandchildren, Calvin Pearson, Charlene Saunders, Cairell Saunders, Deandra Johnson, Tangela Johnson, Mykayla Johnson, Mareshah Johnson, eight great grandchildren, Chanyce Pearson, Chyanne Pearson, Ye'Mayah Temple, James Johnson, Roslee Countee II, Roslee Countee III, Kaiiri Saunders and Khepri Johnson, brothers, Willie Clover, Jr. and Early Clover, sisters, Bessie McClendon, Annette Hall and a host of other relatives and friends.
