Maxine Green Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by S.M. Goodson Funeral Homes and Crematory - Talladega on Jan. 7, 2026.
Ms. Fernette Maxine Green, the cherished daughter of Charlie Green and Johnnie Mae Beavers Green began her 73-year life journey on January 10, 1952, in St. Clair County, Alabama.

From an early age, Maxine embraced her faith, accepting Christ into her heart, and nurturing a spirit of kindness that would touch countless lives. A proud graduate of the St. Clair County Training High School, she later dedicated many years to working in the poultry industry, where she formed lasting friendships that would enrich her life long after retirement.

As a mother, Maxine was a steadfast pillar of strength for her four loving daughters, nurturing with love and devotion as she championed their dreams. Her home was a haven filled with warmth, laughter, and culinary delights, as she expressed her passion for cooking and entertaining. She adored her family gatherings, where stories were shared, laughter echoed, and memories were woven into the fabric of their lives.

Maxine's sweet spirit and gentle demeanor made her not only a beloved mother but also a treasured grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will forever be remembered for her compassionate heart and the joyous light she brought into the lives of those she encountered.

On Wednesday, January 7, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family, Maxine answered the call of her Master saying, "Well Done My Good and Faithful Servant" and transitioned from this walk of life to her new eternal heavenly home. She now joins her father, Charlie Green, along with her brothers, Charles Voncolla Greene and Benjamin Green, and brothers-in-law, Warren Threatt and Donald Palmer. Ms. Green will be missed immensely by her family, friends and all the lives she has touched on her 73-year earthly journey.

Her legacy of love will forever resonate through her loving and devoted daughters, Vivian Green, Celeste (John) Johnson, Alicia Green, and ShaKeya Green; beloved mother, Johnnie Mae Green; brothers, Woodrow (Shirley) Green, Jerry M. (Michelle) Green, and Robert D. (Vickie) Green; sisters, Charlene Threatt, Linda Palmer, and Wanda Beavers; sister-in-law, Peggy Greene; grandchildren, Jaelin Green and Lashaun Green; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.

May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her spirit continue to inspire love, kindness, and unity in the hearts of all who carry her memory forward.
