Maxine Griggs Obituary
Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 am. Saturday June 8, 2024 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.
Maxine was born March 15, 1961 in Tift County Ga. to the late Romel Mathis and Bernice Smith Mathis of Tifton. She was the oldest of ten children and helped raise the younger one making sure they all were in line. Maxine loved to travel, visiting out of town family and always on the lookout for a sale. She had a distinct and contagious laugh, a faithful friend who demanded the same to keep a very close circle. She was a faithful Witness.
Survivors include her mother, Bernice Mathis, her children, Charles Terrell, Sean (Shonte) Griggs, Scotty (Amanda) Griggs and Latoya Dunn, five grandchildren, Simone, Troy, Jalen, Tariq and Jordan, four brothers, Donald (Margaret) Mathis, Ronald (Tina) Mathis, Anthony Mathis, Thomas Mathis, five sisters, Barbara (Tillis) Milton, Shirley Ford, Angla Nichols, Lisa Byrd and Shavon Mathis, and a host of nieces and nephews.
