Maxine Burns Powell

I was so saddened to hear of her passing. She was such a special presence in my life during the years we worked together, and I will always be grateful for her kindness, encouragement, and steady support. Despite the difference in our ages, she treated me with such warmth and generosity, and I learned so much from her. I´ll always smile when I think about the fun we shared at FSU football games-those memories mean more than I can say. My parents, especially my mom, thought the world of her as well. She will be deeply missed, but her kindness and spirit will always stay with me. Carla
