Memorial services for Maxine Ruth Smith Ray, 79, of Whitehouse, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, with Daniel DuPree officiating.
Mrs. Ray passed away on November 25, 2025, at her home. She was born on August 8, 1946, in Wood County to Eldon Max and Dorothy Barnett Smith.
On January 21, 1995, Maxine married the love of her life, Ricky Mack Ray, in Tyler. She later moved from Tyler to Whitehouse, where she had lived for the past 32 years, and was a member of Whitehouse Church of Christ. Maxine always loved spending her summers and weekends in the Alba area, visiting her grandparents, friends, and extended family. She had a deep love for animals and flowers and a steadfast devotion to the Lord. She cherished her family and friends dearly and was known for her warm heart and gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two daughters, Kara Parker and Susan Sparkman.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Ricky Ray of Whitehouse; two grandchildren, Robert Mcelhaney of Eustace and Karaleigh Soto of Whitehouse; one great-grandson, Blake; and numerous other relatives and friends.
