Maxine passed away Monday, August 21, 2023, at Auburn Fields in Auburn, at the age of 94. The daughter of the late Albert and Christina (Feinauer) Schnell was born, May 17th, 1929 in Bay City, MI. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. She was a hard-working farmer's wife who would always lend a hand even though she had plenty of her own work to do. She raised gladiolus and kept beautiful flower gardens. She loved her card group.
She Married her milkman, Arnold C. Rechsteiner on October 9, 1948, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. His horse and buggy delivery led to their happy marriage of 70 years.
Maxine's love lives on in the treasured memories of her daughters, Jane (Jen Brooks) Rechsteiner and Sally (Randy) Clarke. Also left to cherish her memories are granddaughters, Jessica Brooks, Jaime Brooks, Janice Gargulinski, and three grandsons. Arnold's family embraced Maxine and welcomed her as their own. She leaves behind many Rechsteiners who were dear to her especially 'Babe." The family is thankful that Maxine was able to reconnect with her childhood buddy, "Boots" while she resided at Auburn Fields. She is predeceased by her loving husband Arnold, her sister, Marjorie Bickham; her son, david Rechsteiner; and her granddaughter, Heather Clarke.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Auburn Fields for their kind and compassionate care.
A Funeral Service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Tom Dinan with private interment at Fremont Cemetery.
