Maxine Agnes Spooner, 81, St. Maries Beloved Mother & Grandmother Maxine passed away April 22, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Mom was a lifetime resident of St. Maries. Born to Maude (Patterson) and Adamir LeCoultre on October 20th 1930 at St. Maries. She graduated from St. Maries High in 1948, and in the winter of 1949 on December 3rd, she married James Edward Spooner . She and her husband began their family in 1950 with the 1st of three boys, five years later they rounded out there family with the addition of their daughter. In 1956 they began working on Mom's pride and joy the home where they would raise their four kids. She spent hours working on her home and gardening/canning in the summer. Mom was the driving force behind the Spooner family. In the summers you would find her and her brood camping and hiking up the Clearwater and St. Joe rivers. Mom loved the tranquility of her morning routine, reading catalogs, caring for the many family pets and most of all tending to her lawn. She was an extremely caring woman; she was a mother to more than just her own kid's. Mom is survived by her four children; Thomas Spooner of St. Maries, Edward Spooner (Claudia) of St. Maries, Jeffrey Spooner (Paula) of St. Maries, & Diane Farrell (Doug) of St. Maries, twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mom was preceded in death by her husband in 2003 and her brother Roland LeCoultre. Private Interment will proceed a gathering of family and friends at the St. Maries Elks Lodge on Saturday, April 28th at 12:00 p.m Friends and family are encouraged to attend for a sharing of memories and dinner. . The family requests memorial donations be made to the Benewah County Humane society ~ Hope's Haven Animal Shelter; 53 Robinson Lane, St. Maries ID 83861.
