Maxine Ray Townsend

At the age of 84, Maxine Ray Townsend went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2025, in Houston, Texas. She was born on July 2, 1941, in Galveston, Texas to Mack and Julia Noles.

Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmie Townsend; her mother, Julia Noles; her father, Mack Noles; her son-in-law, Guy Camp; her grandson-in-law, Dion Kirschman; and her granddaughter, Angel.

She leaves behind a loving family to carry on her memory: her son, James Townsend; her daughter, Carrie Camp; her seven grandchildren — Stacey, Marcey, Nicole, Darlene, April, Jamie, and J.D.; her seven great-grandchildren — Bailey, Skye, Laramie, Dalilah, Annie, Sophia, and Bella; and her great-great-grandsons, Noble and JJ. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sherilyn and Emken Linton; her nephews, Fred and Emken Jr.; Emken’s fiancée, Sabrina; and her great-nieces, Avery and Bella.

A visitation will be held in her honor on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of her life at 6:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, Texas 77591.
