Maya was a most amazing student and human being. I look back on my time as her teacher with the fondest of memories. I always remember her positive attitude and fun personality. She made the world a better place and she will be missed dearly.

Words could never describe Mayita she was 1 of 1. She had the most beautiful and brightest smile I knew. No one and nothing I say would ever amount to the girl/big cousin and everything she was. Maya was the most positive and loving person I knew she always had a smile and just always seen the beauty in everything through all the chaos of the world. Not a single word, sentence would ever amount to Maya and the brilliant young women she is. You always cheered me on and always told me how much you loved me and were proud of me. You always told me to never give up and you in fact in bodied everything you stood for and more. I´ll continue to reply memories and pictures we have especially the live ones to hear your laugh and you just be you. I´ll always cherish the wise and beautiful words you spoke over me and the bond we shared that´s many never truly knew! When we were together we always lived in the moment and laugh and always had our inside jokes that no one knew but us. We will both always and 4ever be the original and only Ortiz girls in our family lol. You understand me like no other you always knew what to say to me when I was hurt, sad, when I was at my highest high to lowest low. Thank you for always uplifting me and speaking life into me. I´ll make sure to continue to make you proud and love life and what it has to offer, but most importantly to never take it for granted to love it like you did. Your not just my cousin or family but your my inspiration in so many ways especially through the way you loved others and loved life even when it got hard! No one will understand me and what I´ve faced and been through but you. You´ll always and 4ever be my shooting star that lights up the world with beauty that never ends, you´ll always be the brightest of them all. I love you Mayita until I see you again I´ll make sure to accomplish both of our goals and aspirations and the future we both dreamed of and tell you about it all when see eachother again. iloveyouuuu always and forever
