MayeVern Casey Obituary
September 28, 1944 – October 27, 2025
MayeVern Casey, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 27, 2025, in Bakersfield, CA. Born on September 28, 1944, MayeVern was a cherished figure in her community and family. She graduated from Arvin High School and went on to have a distinguished career at Continental Telephone, where she served as the Chapter President of the International Telephone Pioneers Association (ITPA). Known for her eloquence as a public speaker, she traveled extensively across the United States. Following her tenure at ConTel, she dedicated her time to assisting her husband with his Fire Investigation Service.
MayeVern was a devoted wife to Marvin Casey, a loving mother to Kimberly Bush (husband Michael), and a doting grandmother to Matthew Johnson and Amanda Claxton and grandchildren.
Her Stepchildren, Michelle Iaeger, Marty Casey, Shannon Ehly, Shawna Uhrich, and their families were also a big part of her life. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren who will miss her deeply. MayeVern was the last surviving member of the Coffman siblings, preceded in death by her parents, Nural and Lacie Coffman, and her brothers, Jesse, Ed, Ivan, and Vurdes Coffman.
Throughout her life, MayeVern was an active member of Valley Baptist Church, and her Life Group.
Services will be held at Valley Baptist Church on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 10:00AM where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and legacy. Reception will follow immediately after. She will be laid to rest at Arvin Cemetery.
MayeVern's life was marked by her commitment to her family, her faith, and her community, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

I remember Maye Vern being so up beat always smiling and laughing an never still always busy. She loved my uncle and all the children an grand children she was a great person. We will miss her.

I first met MayeVerne 23 years ago as the receptionist at a business she visited. She always had a warm smile & greeting.
I ran into her several years ago at Valley Baptist Church & she still had her joyful & fun character. We helped on the Valley Baptist Missions Golf Tournament the past three years & it was fun to catch up with her again.
I know she is rejoicing in The Presence of Christ Jesus her Savior & will be missed this side of Heaven
