Maynard Courter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fox Funeral Home - Licking on Apr. 2, 2024.
Maynard Courter, age 72, passed away March 31, 2024, in Rolla, Missouri. Maynard was born October 26, 1951, in Independence, Missouri to the late Maynard Courter Sr. and Rosie Courter.
Maynard attended Handthorn Grade School and Truman High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Sherry Courter, when he was eighteen years old. His first marriage with Sherry was blessed with two children, Michelle Courter (James Looney) of Houston, MO, and William Courter (Lisa) of Dawson, Georgia. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Christopher Courter (Mistye), and Christina Courter; and one great-grandchild, Scotty Courter.
For the last twenty-five years, Maynard had a special union with Mollie Flowers. She brought into Maynard's life children from her first marriage. Those children include Michael Flowers Jr. (Mary Rose), Amanda Melton (Kevin), and Joshua Flowers (Cindy).
Maynard enjoyed being a grandfather to Maddison, Haley, Dakota, Arrianne, Gage, Josh Jr., Oriona, Abree, Van Allison, Kenlee, Kylah, and Hannah. He especially enjoyed the ones who lived close by.
Maynard was a warehouse worker for the national brand, Rival. He then worked for a local company driving a truck, factory worker at Rawlings Sporting Goods. Maynard liked to go hunting with his buddies, Dave Stotler and Glynn Ralph. During his big hunt he got a 12-point buck. He has been a long-life motorcycle rider. He was thrilled to buy his dream bike, a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service for Maynard will take place Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Smith Cemetery in Edgar Springs.
