Maynard Lynn Shellhammer

Maynard Lynn "Buck" Shellhammer, 75, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:51 pm, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at his home. He was born on February 12, 1948, in Beaumont, Texas, to Mainard Lee and Rosalee (Burkhead) Shellhammer.
Buck served in the US Air Force from 1970-1972. He married Philip Eugene Schlemmer in Wabash on June 27, 2014. He co-owned along with Gene, Scotty's Bar and Grill, the Mini Cafe, and Wabash Furniture and Carpet. Buck enjoyed remodeling his rental properties, doing construction work, but fishing was his passion.
He is survived by his husband, Philip Eugene Schlemmer of Wabash; four daughters, Genea Pegg, Michelle (Jonna Dunn) Cross, Angel (John) Godfrey, all of Wabash, and D'trese (John) Hicks of Texas; six grandchildren, Kyle Cross of Wabash, Katie Godfrey of Harrah, Oklahoma, Blain Shellhammer, Brandon Shellhammer, Megan Olinick, and Roy Ousley III, all of Texas, and his sister-in-law, Alene Shellhammer of Jasper, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Dwayne Shellhammer and Deidra Shellhammer, and two brothers, Bobby and Frank Shellhammer.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 4-8 pm Monday, at the funeral home.
