Mrs. Mazie Bell Ailer

Mrs. Mazie Bell (Ingram) Ailer, of Swords Creek, VA, born on July 18, 1930 in Staunton, Virginia, to the late Jennie Peters Ingram and the late Herman Ingram, passed away at age 88 on March 10, 2019 in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. Mazie was the loving wife of the late Earsie Shannon "Shanty" Ailer. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gilbert Ingram, Willie Ingram, and Hubert Ingram; and sisters, Lena Turner and Daisy Obst. Mazie is survived by her son, Michael Shannon Ailer and wife Natalie; brother, Paul Butch Ingram; sister, Betty Altizer; sister, Mary Hingle; granddaughter, Autumn Edson; nieces, Kim Clark, Roberta Bowers, Norma Gutshall, and Debra Smiley; nephews, Robert and Donald Obst and Curtis Ailer and mother Nancy; and friends, Candy Neff and Carrie Dixon Johnson. She loved word search puzzles and cooking. Friends and family can attend the celebration of life service. Service will be held in Augusta County, VA, date and time to be determined. Internment will be at Augusta Memorial Park, Fishersville, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can made to help fund Alzheimer research.
