Meagan Desemar Obituary

On June 20, 2024, at 8pm, we lost a very special someone and heaven gained a beautiful angel. Meagan Rachelle Desemar, on her way home that night, was a victim of a tragic head-on collision and as a result, lost her life. She was a loving sister, daughter and friend to the multitude of people she impacted throughout her short lifetime. Our lives will forever be changed with this horrific loss.

Meagan Rachelle Desemar, age 29, was born February 27, 1995, in Baton Rouge, LA where she lived until age 20 when she moved to Mississippi. Meagan loved animals and had a dream of becoming a vet. She proudly owned several horses and donkeys that were deeply loved and cared for along with several dogs including the two she raised from pups, Peanut and Sadie. One of her most recent accomplishments was returning to college three years ago to take on a full-time schedule of courses while continuing to work full-time at a local medical clinic. During that time, she proved her brilliance and capabilities by maintaining a 4.0 GPA. In May of 2023, Meagan proudly graduated from East Mississippi Community College.

Meagan is survived by her immediate family including her sister, Lauren Jaclyn Jarrell, her father, Jack J. Desemar, Jr., along with several other loved relatives. Meagan will reunite in heaven with her mother, Debbie Desemar who passed away from cancer on November 11, 2009, along with her grandparents Jack Desemar Sr. and Evelyn Desemar.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m.
On July 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM, a burial will be held at her mother's gravesite at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home located at 11817 Jefferson Highway Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
