Mearle J. Inman age 87 of West Lebanon, IN passed away unexpectedly at 10:40 p.m. on Friday January 19,2024 at the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport.
Mearle was born on January 29, 1936 in Macon County, IL. He was the son of Cash and Jesse (Ward) Inman. Mearle attended grade school in Marshfield and later Cates, IN and was a 1954 graduate of Kingman High School. He had resided in Warren County for most of his life. Mearle married Patricia M. “Patty” Henderson on July 5, 1958 in State Line, IN. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2023. After their marriage they moved to Warren County where they had resided for the past 44 years.
Mearle proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had driven a school bus for Kingman and Cates schools. Meale was a over the road semi driver for over 50 years. He was a life member of the Williams Chapel Church in Johnsonville, IN as he helped build the church. Mearle was a member of a CB Club that benefitted Cerebral Palsy. His handle was wood chopper. He enjoyed rebuilding and restoring antique Allis tractors. Mearle enjoyed attending many antique tractor shows. He loved to travel to the Rocky Mountains in Gunnison, Colorado where he would elk hunt and go off roading. Mearle never met a stranger and loved to go out and eat and make the rounds going table to table visiting with everyone. Those who knew him know there are way to many friends to list them all.
Surviving are his children, Ronald E. Inman (Debbie) of Marshfield, IN, Alan Inman (significant other: Melinda Corwin) of Tangier, IN, Robin Hann of West Lafayette, IN, and Rhonda Howard (Leslie) of Frankfort, IN, and Curtis Dowers of Marshall, IL; daughter-in-law, Cindy Inman of Perrysville, IN; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren. Mearle was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Connie Jo Inman, son Jerry “ Howdy” Inman, 5 brothers, John Inman, Howard Inman, Logan Inman, Cash Inman, and William Inman; 3 sisters Pearl Stiffler, Julie Baldwin, and Grace Pryor; infant great-great grandson, Amilio
Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Randy Cunningham officiating. Burial to immediately follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of ones choice.
