Megan S. Cordero

Megan Cordero was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Megan passed away on September 14, 2024 at the age of 48 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by pouring love into one another and appreciating her love and sacrifices. Her battle with cancer in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Megan came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. 

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Megan. She loved a quiet evening with her spouse and her dogs, simply indulging in their hobbies while enjoying each other’s presence and a good meal. She enjoyed crafting and making handmade gifts for the people she loved. While enjoying her time alone at home, Megan found peace in her garden. She poured lots of love into growing her plants and vegetables, and was always happy to share whatever she grew with those around her. Megan also loved spending time in the kitchen, dancing and creating delicious meals for her family and her beloved pets. She had a passionate love affair with coffee, ice cream, pot roast, and almost anything dipped in chocolate. Megan truly had an uncanny ability to find happiness in simple things. Her fun and confident personality was contagious to everyone she met.

Megan met the love of her life, Michael Richer, while taking her car to get fixed after recently moving from one city to another. It was love at first sight and they poured nothing but love into one another every step of the way for 8 wonderful years. Together, they shared three children, Angelique (David Newton) Karamihail, Nichole E. Mancino and Jacobe Lopez; and six grandchildren, Nathan, Grayson, Susie, Forest, Ava and Joell. 

Also left to cherish her memories, are ten siblings, Linda Cordero, Michelle Cordero, Jeannie Cordero, Helen Cordero, Isabel Nieves, Julie Cordero, Antonio Cordero, Juan Cordero, Celestino Nieves, Starsky Valles; a niece, Megan Cordero; and a nephew, Adam Zink.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Cordero and father, Juan Nieves.

Megan kept people rolling in laughter because she could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances. Her cheerful attitude and bright smile will be missed by everyone who knew her. 

Megan will be honored with a private service & celebration of life.
