Obituary for Megan Danysh
Megan Amelia Elizabeth (Ebert) Danysh of
Mount Laurel, New Jersey, passed away peacefully in her home on September 2, 2025. She had recently celebrated her 50th birthday.
Megan was born on August 16, 1975 to Judy (nee Distler) and Andrew Ebert in Meadowbrook, PA. She grew up in Richboro, PA, and lived in Burlington before settling in Mount Laurel, where she spent the last 12 years.
Megan touched the lives of many with her brilliant mind, quick wit, and deeply empathetic heart. A lifelong animal lover, she became a vegetarian early in life and cared lovingly for her German Shepherds-Meeko, Chewie, and Loki.
She met her husband, Jeff at a bar-a chance encounter that sparked both a lasting friendship and a deep, enduring love.
A constant light in her life was her love for children. Their innocence and purity never failed to bring a smile to her face, even in the hardest of times. This deep affection and respect for little ones naturally made her the family's go-to babysitter and, later, a beloved nanny to countless families. It was this love for children that also inspired her to become a Support teacher for Moorestown School District -and, eventually, a mother.
Of all the roles she held, motherhood was Megan's most cherished.
When Megan and Jeff lovingly welcomed Trent and Julian to the world in 2008, and later Silas in 2014, her spirit came alive in new ways as she embraced the chance to nurture, support, and fiercely advocate for them in all that they did.
That same fierce devotion extended into every corner of her life. A true warrior at heart, Megan thrived on challenge and growth well beyond the walls of her home. Her inner strength was mirrored in her physical grit as she competed in over 100 Spartan races in her lifetime.
While she enjoyed challenging herself, Megan equally cherished restorative time with her family. A lifelong vacationer "down the shore," she spent at least a few summer weeks in Avalon each year at her parents' beloved beach house. It was in this sacred space that Megan and her extended family shared long, sun-soaked days on the beach, lively storytelling around the fire pit, movie nights, and the simple joy of just being together.
Megan was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer nearly three years ago. From the beginning, she faced it with unwavering courage, fighting fiercely to live fully-for herself and for the family she loved so deeply. A firm believer in the afterlife, Megan's spirit lives on-strong, radiant, and forever present in the hearts of those she touched.
Megan is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jeffery Danysh; her mother, Judy Ebert; her children, Julian, Trent and Silas; her siblings, Andrew Ebert (Kimberly), Peter Ebert (Mary), Lisa Doughtery (Timothy), Jennifer Simcox (Michael), and Mitchell Ebert (Rose); many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Megan is predeceased by her dad, Andrew Ebert.
Relatives and friends are invited to Megan's visitation on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 8:30AM-10:00AM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road,
Mount Laurel, NJ 08054. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30AM at Saint John Neumann Church, 560 Walton Avenue,
