Meiying "Ellen" Wang

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Meiying (Ellen) Wang of Deerfield on November 9, 2025. She will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Pang-Ching Wang and Chun-Tao Ou; her husband of 25 years, Jeffrey; her children, Annemarie and Elizabeth; her sisters, Shihchen (Jennifer) and Shihlan (Grace); as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
Ellen graduated from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio, in 1998. She worked at various accounting firms in Taiwan and China, and most recently at Brown Shoe Company in St. Louis, Missouri, as a Senior Tax Accountant.
Her hobbies included cooking, attending classes at the Patty Turner Center, and participating in book clubs. Ellen was passionate about rescuing animals-over the past two decades, she fostered and adopted five beloved cats: Missy, Katie, Pika, Colby, and Fat Cat. She found her greatest peace at the Prairie Wolf Slough Forest Preserve, where she walked several miles each day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 150 S Wacker Dr #2100, Chicago, IL 60606, or to the Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street, Deerfield, IL 60015.
A visitation and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL. A private burial will follow with immediate family at Vernon Township Cemetery.
