Melanie Marie Dye, 30, went to be with her Lord on August 7, 2025. She was born in Akron, Ohio on May 19, 1995 to Michael and Shannon (Mushisky) Dye.
Melanie graduated from Ellet High School in 2013 and later took classes at Stark State Community College. She was an excellent student and loved to learn. For the past seven years, Melanie worked as a credit report analyst at Carter Lumber, where her co-workers were like family to her.
Melanie felt most at home when she was near the water. Family trips to Myrtle Beach to swim and hunt for shark teeth and peaceful days at Wingfoot Lake with her rod and reel were what fed her soul. She was thrilled to pass her love of fishing to her sons, Dawson and Bryson.
She also loved gaming on her PS5 and had a soft spot for all kinds of animals.
Melanie cannot be described in mere words, but kind, loving, and generous are a few words that fit her to a tee. She cared about her family and friends and absolutely loved being a mother. She was a precious gift to those who knew her and will never be forgotten.
Melanie was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Frank Mushisky, James Dye, and Robert Bergey; grandmother, Loyetta Roach; uncle, Frank Mushisky; and cousins, Nicole McGovern and Robert Dye.
Melanie will be dearly missed by her sons, Dawson Dye and Bryson Morgan; parents, Michael and Shannon Dye; sister, Monica (Justin) Burns; grandmother, Beverly Bergey; grandfather, James Roach; niece, Preslee Burns; cousins, Erica, Caitlin, Josh, Jesse, Lauren, John, Jessica, Cody, and Summer and their families. She also leaves her beloved uncles, Big Jim, Bob, Little Jim, and Ron (Tina); and aunts, Michelle (Gregg) and Lisa (Mike).
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5pm - 7pm immediately followed by a 7pm memorial service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44305.
