Melanie Francesca Rush

Melanie Francesca Rush, 48, of Pass Christian, Mississippi, passed away on December 1, 2025. Born on December 8, 1976, to Cheryl and Ray Reeves, Melanie brought light, laughter, and a fearless spirit into the world from the very beginning.

Melanie was a free spirited, funny, and outspoken soul. Someone who never hesitated to speak her mind, stand up for what she believed in, or love fiercely. She had a special way of making people feel seen, supported, and cared for. To know her was to know warmth, honesty, and a heart that truly beat for her family.

She was a loving mother to her children Caleb, Mistilyn, Gabrielle, Ashley, Jeremiah, Joshua, and Landon each of whom she loved deeply and unconditionally. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to Brennan and Landon who brought her immense joy. Her nieces and nephews are Braxton, Toni, Brooke, Nathaniel, Tristen, Camdon, Christina, Kaydence, Zackary Jr, and Silas whom she loved. Her partner in life, James, who was her constant companion and closest friend. She is also survived by her siblings Zachary Reeves and wife Rachel Reeves, Aaron Reeves, Elizabeth McLain, Loria Vierling, Samantha Henson and husband Brandon Henson.

Melanie is preceded in death by her mother, Cheryl Reeves, and her two sons, David and Elijah, whom she now holds once again.

Melanie’s love for her family was the anchor of her life. She found joy in simple moments, laughter in everyday chaos, and beauty in the people she cared for. Her presence filled rooms, and her absence will be felt deeply by all who were lucky enough to be part of her life.

As we say goodbye, we hold tight to the memories, love, and lessons she leaves behind. Melanie’s spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her strong, bright, and unforgettable.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the O'Neal Road location of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O'Neal Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. Interment will be in Finley Cemetery.
