Melanie Tysowski Obituary
Melanie was born in Trenton, NJ, to Kathy and Walter Piekielniak. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, and St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA. She worked for Mohrman Scott Associates and Notre Dame High School. She loved animals, nature, and a good party.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph S. "Butch" Tysowski, Jr. She is survived by her special family Mary Joan, Joe, Joe, and Nick Maruca, Tara O'Leary, and her sisters-in-law Carolyn Tysowski Mack and Susan Tysowski; several cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 11:15AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Interment will be held at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing Twp.
The visitation for Melanie will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30-11:15AM at the funeral home.
Memorial donations can be made in Melanie's name to Pet Rescue of Mercer PO Box 2574, Hamilton, NJ 08690 or to Notre Dame High School Tuition Assistance, 601 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Arrangements are under the direction of Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, Lawrenceville, NJ.

My heart is so heavy since I heard of Mel´s passing. We have been friends for over 50 years. Trips we taken together, parties, picnics and then our New Year´s Eve celebrations with Gene and Priscilla. These memories will last a lifetime. My only regret is that we didn´t get together before you moved. You are one of our guardian angels now and with your beloved Butch!! I would also like to thank Mary Joan and her family for the love, friendship and devotion for Melanie. May god bless you.

Joan and I were saddened to read of Melanie's passing. Remembering the fun times we all had at Notre Dame, class of 1972. Condolences to her family and special friends. Rest in Peace.

To Melanie´s friends and Special Family: The Office of Alumni Relations at Saint Joseph´s University sends prayers and condolences. Melanie´s studies at Saint Joseph´s earned her a BS degree in Psychology in 1976. St. Joseph´s was honored to be a small part of her journey in life. We regret that we are unable to be present with you and offer our condolences in person. Melanie´s name, however, will be entered in a Chapel Memorial Book listing the names of deceased alumni and friends. Her name will remain there for a year. All those so listed share in prayers during all the Masses said in the University Chapel.
