Melissa Bazley, 62, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Winterset, Iowa. Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later time in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Melissa was born October 24, 1959, in Des Moines, IA, to Max and Doris (Rimel) Knauer. She married Raymond Bazley in December, 2000.
Melissa shared her passion of repurposing vintage and antique treasures through their Etsy shop, RayMels. Her wish was to help create and awaken happy memories for their thousands of customers all over the world. Melissa loved finding new ways to showcase her talents with her husband Raymond. Their wood engraving business flourished and Melissa was able to work from home and be amongst her family. She was a crafty, artsy, vibrant person who loved board games, hiking in the woods, and overall, a woman who embodied joy. Melissa loved sunrises and the hope & new beginnings that each sunrise represents. She spread joy to everyone!
Melissa is survived by her husband, Raymond Bazley; brother, Michael (Kathleen) Knauer; three sisters, Jennifer (Kim) Doughty of Clear Lake, IA, Melody (Scott) Nelson of Des Moines, IA, and Julia (Roger) Morgan of Durant, OK; sister-in-law, Kittie Weston-Knauer; two sons, Devin (Mallory) Cooper, and Seth Bazley; two daughters, Kuri Bolger and Mallory (Ron) Mallette; three grandchildren, Naomi Cooper, Magnolia Cooper, and Brysen Bolger; stepdaughter, Callie, and her children, Keegan, Madysen, Jaxson, and Corbyn; and many members of the Cooper family tribe. Her granddaughter, Kinlee June Bolger, grandson, Owen Jacob Bolger, and son-in-law, Michael Steven Bolger, died in the tornado with her. Melissa was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Cooper; mother, Doris Edna Knauer; father, Max Knauer, Jr.; and brother, Max Knauer, III.
