With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Melissa Lane Bias, who left us peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on February 12, 1961, in Jennings, LA, Melissa was a shining light in the lives of everyone she met. She lived in Crowley, LA where she created a loving home with her devoted husband.

Melissa graduated from Lake Arthur High School in 1979 and worked as a service manager in the food industry for many years, where she touched the lives of those she served. She was known for her warm smile and her ability to bring people together, always making time to enjoy life to the fullest with her cherished family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Noel Bias, and a close-knit family that includes her mother, Marlene L. Broussard; her siblings: Danette Beard "Dada", Danita (Luke) David, Ed Broussard, and Gwen (Shawn "Spanky" Broussard); her sons: Shane Schexnider and Lonnie Schexnider; and her precious grandchildren: Cameron, Shae, Kylen, and Bryceton. Each of them will carry a piece of her spirit in their hearts forever.

Melissa embraced every moment, valuing family time above all else. We will miss her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering support.

The family has chosen to honor her wishes under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings, LA.

Rest in peace, Melissa. You will be missed but never forgotten.
