Melissa Gilbreath Obituary
ELIDA -- Melissa Ann Gilbreath, 51 of Elida, was called home to Heaven on May 3, 2023, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center.
Melissa was born July 29, 1971, in Lima, to Dan and Vickie (Mowery) Gilbreath, who survive her in Elida.
Melissa was a 1990 graduate of Elida High School and worked as a nanny and, most recently, as a caregiver at Home Instead. She enjoyed playing games and she was a member of Blue Lick Bible Church in her earlier years. Melissa loved family gatherings and spending time with her nieces when she had the opportunity. She had a huge heart and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. In addition to her parents,
Melissa is survived by her brother, Andrew (Courtney) Gilbreath; special nieces, Jenna Gilbreath, Joanie Keefner and Layla Gilbreath; maternal grandfather, Robert Mowery and her aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Betty Gilbreath; her maternal grandmother, Virginia Mowery and her maternal step-grandmother, Clara Mowery.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel with Pastor Jason Knight to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Monday, May 8, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluelick Bible Church.

I just want to express one more time about how grateful I am to Missy for caring for my father Harry Routson for 2 to 3 years. She was always so kind to him, taking him to the cemetery, or having ice cream together, or just having a laugh.

Thank you Missy for caring for my grandpa Harry up until his passing last May 4, 2022. You were So kind to me always and my kids when we would see you at Papa´s assisted living facility. You were special to him, and to us as his family! He welcomed you HOME I know it ! God bless you.

Joe and I are very sorry to hear of Missy`s passing. We knew missy from her taking fantastic care of our dad, Harry Routson I cannot express in words how much we thought of Missy. I do know this, though dad welcomed her in heaven.
