Born on November 26, 1972 in Hornell, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Aultman and Barbara (Palmiter) Aultman. Melissa was a graduate of Canisteo Greenwood High School and later attended Corning Community College where she received her Associate's Degree in early childhood education. She worked as a teaching assistant at the Valley Early Childhood School in Cameron for over ten years.
Melissa will be remembered for her love of singing and painting, and her strong faith in God. Over the years, she volunteered many hours at her church and the Valley Early Childhood School. Her greatest joy was her family - she enjoyed every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Melissa is survived by her children: Shelby (Dakota) Johnson of Elmira, NY, Makenna (Timothy) Allen of Corning, NY, Ava Hammond of Addison, NY; grandchildren: Kyler Johnson, Jonah Barber, Lucius Johnson and a granddaughter on the way; mother, Barbara Aultman of Adrian, NY; brother, Raymond (Alicia) Aultman, Jr. of Elmira, NY; sister, Angela Aultman; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St., Addison, NY. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 6:00 pm, Rev. Vaughn VanSkiver officiating. Burial will take place in the family plot in Addison Rural Cemetery.
