Melissa Chantelle Heerdt, 49, passed away on June 23, 2024. Loving wife of Daniel Heerdt for 28 years, cherished mother of Kayla (Sean) Howard, Tristan (Jalynn) Heerdt, Kirstyn Heerdt, Alex Heerdt, Brenton Heerdt, Sammy Heerdt and Elijah Heerdt, cherished Nana of Liam Howard, Wayland Howard, Kara Howard and Koriann Howard, beloved daughter of Chuck (Nancy) Blair and Debi (Tony) Street. Melissa is also survived by her siblings Amy (Kevin) Heximer and Charlie (Jessica) Blair as well as many nieces nephews and friends.
Melissa was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She moved to Florida in 1994 where she met the love of her life Dan. They started a family and moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1999 where their family continued to grow. She worked as an athletic director for Dominion Academy of Dayton where she was known as the "Mother of family of families".
Her proudest accomplishment was being a stay at home mom. She was known to always put others before herself. She was very welcoming and made sure that everyone was well fed. She was famous for her subs and making way too much food. Disney World was her favorite place to visit. She was the most America patriotic Canadian you would ever meet.
A celebration of Melissa's life will be held at First Baptist Church of Fairborn (1167 Highview Dr. Fairborn, Ohio 45324) on Saturday June 29th, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Flowers can be sent to the church in her memory.
