Melissa E. Schute passed away peacefully in her home on February 3, 2026, in Cedar Rapids. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

She was born on September 30, 1970, in Dubuque, IA to Ronald Bradley and Rosemarie (Eichhorn). Melissa worked as a CNA in Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, IA for several years. She was a lover of all animals and adored her three dogs, Pascal, Avery, and Bella. Melissa had a deep love for music and attended many concerts throughout her life. She also enjoyed collecting unique rocks, gathering them on every outing. Above all, Melissa cherished spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She had a kind and selfless soul, a whimsical nature, and was deeply loved by all.

Melissa is survived by her children, Kyle Arling of Dubuque, IA, and Will Billmeyer of Cedar Rapids, IA: sisters, Jennifer Bradley, and Dorothy Bradley, both of Dubuque, IA: nieces and nephews including Nick Brimmer, Sylvia Edwards, Christina Schick, Josh Mercado, and Adam Edwards.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Rosemarie Reno, Ronald Bradley; and a very special step-father, David Reno.

The family wishes to thank Melissa's special friends Justin, Nurse Jenny, and Care Initiatives Hospice for all their support throughout her journey.

Will and Kyle you have my sympathy. Melissa was a very kind soul. I met her when she was just 5 years old. She was the sweetest little girl. She had a beautiful smile and her eyes sparkled with the longest lashes.
Melissa's mom Rose was my most precious friend.
Rest in peace Mel..you deserve it pain free...
