Melissa J. Sparrow-Lien passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 60.
Family was everything to Missy. She dedicated her life to her loved ones, cherishing every moment spent with her family.
Melissa spent over 30 years working as a wildlife biologist for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Her passion for the outdoors was evident in everything she did. Specializing in habitat restoration, she took immense pride in restoring prairies, even restoring a small prairie at her home. She looked forward every summer to time spent at Pelican Lake in western Minnesota, where she loved to spend time reconnecting with family and friends.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Melissa was a devoted member of her community, actively participating in her church and forming lasting friendships with those around her. Wherever Missy went, her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Ricky; her children Alex & Sammi; siblings Jacque & Todd Sparrow; her parents Tom & Pat Sparrow, and many nieces, nephews & friends.
