It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melissa Ann Stephens, who left us on January 11, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on August 30, 1962, in Arlington, Texas, Melissa was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her.
She was the cherished daughter of Donald Knight and Betty Tinkle, and her love for family was evident in everything she did. Melissa shared a beautiful life with her husband, Rowdy Stephens, for 45 wonderful years. Together, they raised two incredible children who were her pride and joy: son Clinton Stephens and daughter Claire Stephens. Her family was her heart, and she devoted herself to ensuring their lives were filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
As a talented hairstylist, Melissa had a gift for making others feel beautiful and confident. Her passion for her craft shone through in every style she created, and her clients often became lifelong friends. Melissa's warmth extended beyond her profession; she had a deep love for cats, providing a nurturing home to many furry companions throughout her life.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Rowdy; her devoted children, Clinton and Claire; her mother, Betty Knight; her sisters, Denise Thomason and Camille Knight; and many other family and friends. She will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched with her kindness.
She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Knight.
Melissa's visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Wade Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will be Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11 am at Rush Creek Christian Church, 2401 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76017. Graveside will be at Old Arlington Cemetery in Arlington, Texas at 12:30pm.
We invite all those who knew and loved her to join us in remembering a woman who brought so much light into the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Melissa's name to local animal shelters, continuing her legacy of love for all creatures.Rest in peace, dear Melissa; your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
