Melody Harrison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watson Funeral Home & Memorial Park - Winchester on Mar. 21, 2026.
Melody Ann (Goode) Harrison was born on March 10, 1958, in Winchester, Tennessee. She was the second daughter to D.P. and Mary Frances (Copeland) Goode who preceded her in death. Melody left this earth early on March 20, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. She attended Winchester Church of Christ and was baptized at the Cowan Church of Christ at an early age. Her sister Gina Faye Goode Bishop also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Joshua Harrison; children, Jamie (Josh) Kerin, Jacob (JaeLeia) Morris, Andrew (Maddie) Harrison, Susan (Dennis) Hurst, Matthew Harrison, and Donald Parker; siblings, Meg Griffin, Jackie Goode, and Dempsie (Elizabeth) Goode; grandchildren, Jake (Chelsea) Hurst, Macie (Eric) Oldfield, Marlee Kerin, Dylan Kerin, Robert Kerin, Callie Parker, Aspen Parker, and Mia Parker; nieces and nephews, Jeremiah (Jessica) Griffin, Alyshia Griffin, Rachael (Matt) McCandless, Grace (Justin) Cunningham, Cody (Miranda) Griffin, Dempsie Goode, and Everett Goode; and many great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece.

Melody grew up in Cowan, TN on her mom and dad's cattle farm. She learned to ride horses and help on the farm when she was young. She also assisted her grandmothers and would stay with them as they grew older. She attended Cowan Elementary, South Junior High, and graduated from Franklin County High School in 1976. She attended the College of Nursing at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1981, and earned her MSN from University of Alabama at Huntsville in 1997. Melody started her extraordinary nursing career in Winchester as a floor nurse, then charge nurse, and then a director of home health. She then worked at Sewanee Hospital as a nursing administrator. She transitioned to a nurse practitioner and has been practicing for 28 years, including at clinics in Monteagle and Tracy City. Twenty years ago, she found her passion in women's health and has worked the last 15 years with Dr. Myers at Amani Women's Health. Nursing was her calling and her patients adored and respected her, as was evidenced in the outpouring of love from her community over the last several years.

She loved spending time at ball games, cheer competitions, plays, gymnastic meets, and dance recitals of all her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved storytelling, writing, hiking in the mountains and gathering bluebells, cheering for her TN Vols, gardening, crafting, hosting large family gatherings and trying out new recipes for her family. She loved her family fiercely and completely.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Watson Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Cowan Montgomery Cemetery. Watson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 405 Sharp Springs Road, Winchester, TN 37398.
