OBITUARY FOR MELODY LANE LEWTON

11/27/1951 – 07/27/2025

Melody was born in Hettinger, North Dakota on November 27th ,1951. She was the oldest of four siblings. She met the love of her life, Thomas Lewton in 1968 in Bowman North Dakota. She was working at the local hospital and Tom was home on leave from the Air Force. They married on March 23rd 1970 in Deadwood, South Dakota at the Methodist Church. The very next day Melody moved to Denver to join Tom who had already been living in Denver for about a year. They lived in a few places around Denver and Thornton for a few years, but settled into their forever home in 1977, which is the home they still have to this day. They had two children, Chad and Cheryl Lewton. Melody was a loving stay at home mom for most of her life and really enjoyed always being able to be there for her children.

Melody loved many things in life. She enjoyed traveling, she has been to almost all of the 50 states including also Hawaii, Mexico and Canada. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, shopping and writing letters, she really enjoyed talking to her mother on the phone. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and loved spending time with them. She was always happy to visit with friends and family that came in from out of town and gladly welcomed them into her home. She was loved very much by her cousins and relatives.

Melody managed to make the best out of her life despite many challenges due to bad health conditions, including Arthritis, Diabetes and Dementia. She still kept a positive attitude and was definitely a very strong and beautiful woman through it all.

Melody is survived by her husband Thomas Lewton, her son Chad Lewton, her daughter Cheryl Lewton, brother Kenny McLaughlin, brother Lonnie McLaughlin, sister Darla McLaughlin. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Kenneth and Rebecca McLaughlin.
