In Loving Memory of Mrs. Melody San Jose Palo
Mrs. Melody San Jose Palo, cherished wife of Jaime Paule, peacefully passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Emory University Medical Center in Atlanta.
A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 on Thursday, August 14, 2025, and Friday, August 15, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The Rosary, as part of the ongoing Novena, will be held at 6:00 PM on both evenings.
Born in the Philippines, Melody was one of eleven children of Jose and Cleotilde San Jose. She later moved to the United States, where she met Jaime Paule, the love of her life. They were married on April 10, 1984, and built a life together in New Jersey, raising three daughters. In 2004, the family relocated to Augusta, Georgia.
Melody dedicated 42 years to her nursing career, serving at Preakness Hospital, Barnert Hospital, and Clara Maass Medical Center in New Jersey, and later at Piedmont Hospital in Augusta until her retirement. She was actively involved in community organizations including the Philippine American Association of Augusta, Sinulog, and PAMAG.
Melody also found joy in traveling, baking, singing, and dancing. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family - especially her two beloved granddaughters.
A devoted member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church for 19 years, Melody served as a lector during Sunday Mass and was deeply committed to her faith.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jaime; her daughters, Zinna Palo, Charisa Francisco (David), and Cristina Chua (Mark); her grandchildren, Amaiya Francisco and Noelle Chua; and her siblings, Elizabeth Bonifacio (Dan), Arlene Celestino (Jimmy), Charito Apayor (Audie), Arthur San Jose (Rose), Renato San Miquel (Liza), and Ferdinand San Jose (Juliet).
Melody was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Cleotilde, and her brothers, Rodel, Enrique, Ramon, and Jose Jr.
