Melva Jean Rahmann, age 83, of Sorrento, Florida, passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Born on January 15th, 1941, in Natrona Heights, PA, Melva graduated school early and married young to the love of her life. Melva and Bobby married on March 14th, 1959, and they started their family in Washington D.C. Melva worked for the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover, while Bobby worked as a pressman. They raised their two girls, Julie and Noel, in Clinton, MD, until they moved to Sarver, PA in the 1970’s. While living in Sarver, Melva ran a ceramics business out of their home, hosting classes and making beautiful pieces. In 1984, the couple moved to Sorrento, following their children and bringing a spirit of warmth and kindness that touched many lives. Before retirement, Melva had a rewarding career in mortgage underwriting. Melva was a devoted member of Bay Street Baptist Church, volunteering and serving in many ministries. She could often be found making meals or desserts for others, crafting cards, crocheting, visiting shut ins or attending a Bible study. Melva was a sister in Christ like no other. She never met a stranger, and to know her, was to be loved by her. Melva leaves behind a loving family, including her two daughters, Julie (Joseph) Mialki of Port Orange, FL, and Noel (Larry) Harvey of Eustis, FL. She was cherished by her four grandchildren: JoJo, Angel, Annie, and Daniel, as well as seven great-grandchildren: Stella, Reagan, Wren, Cooper, Colton, Wade and Elias. Melva is predeceased by her husband, Robert “Bobby” Rahmann. The family invites friends to celebrate Melva’s life at Bay Street Baptist Church, on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Prior to the service, visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bay Street Baptist Church Building Fund. For those wishing to share their memories and condolences, an online guestbook is available at www.hardenpauli.com. Arrangements are being handled by Harden/Pauli Funeral Home, Eustis, Florida.
