You always smiled and laughed. Positive energy is the only energy you had inside of you. Take your rest until the Lord awakens you for eternal life.

My heartfelt sympathy to Melvin´s family, whom he cherished so much. Melvin and my late husband, Melvet, met 54 years ago in Vietnam. They discovered they were both from Baton Rouge and shared the same birthday. From that point on they celebrated their birthdays together for 27 years and never missed a birthday together. I thank God for Melvin´s life and all of his contributions to his community and to veterans. He will be sorely missed. May God grant you peace, strength and comfort.

It was great to see Cousin Melvin at Thanksgiving this past year. I remember seeing him and thinking "wow he´s so fly". I don´t know anyone else who looks that good with a mustache like that, and I thought his outfit was nice. He was in great spirits. And he was so happy to see everyone. It was a cozy time. And he gave that pecan pie the BUSINESS! Very grateful to have that memory of him. I prayed for his arrival in heaven with his late wife, and my cousin, Rosina. My heart is happy to know they´re together again. Try not to focus on the absence of physical, and feel happy that he´s made his transition in peace. It´s a blessing. Love and prayers to big cousins Corey and Nick during their time of grief.

Melvin has made a difference in so many lives. What an amazing person and such a remarkable life.
Our family will not be the same without Melvin´s infectious smile and so very cool demeanor that will be unforgettable. I´m grateful to have been a member of his family.
Corey and Nick I know I can´t make your pain go away, but I want you to know I´m here for you with a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen with, or anything else you may need.
I know we´ll find comfort in each other and we"ll get through this together. ~Cousin Tammy
