Melvin Brown, age 83, peacefully passed away on October 30, 2025, at home in his favorite recliner. Melvin was a beloved Husband, Dad, and Papa.
Melvin Was born in 1942 in Madisonville, Ky to late Leslie and Loraine Brown.
Melvin is survived by his adoring wife of 55 years, Connie "Kay" Brown; his daughters, Amanda Dann (Kenny), Jeanette Hoak (Jeff), and Kari Hilborn; son, Kevin Brown; grandchildren, Alex Millburn, Devin Millburn, Stephanie Grider, Colton Willis, Kelsea Willis, Samantha Hoak, and Conner Brown; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Rodger Brown.
Melvin is preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Loraine Brown; brothers, Doug Brown and Larry Brown; sister, Louise Hibbs.
Melvin loved spending his time with his family, especially his favorite Sunday dinner of a well done T-bone and potatoes. He loved watching Syfy and old western movies, especially Star Trek. He was an avid Trekie. He also enjoyed spending his time out on his swing with his wife watching the Hummingbirds.
In Melvin's early years, he spent his time as a race car driver and loved his Mustangs. In the 90's, Melvin was part of the Volunteer Coast Guard with his wife Connie, on the Ohio River. Melvin always had a video camera in his hand to capture every moment of his family's lives.
Melvin was the owner of American Video for 18 years which was one of the first pioneering Video Rental Stores in Henderson, KY, Madisonville, KY, Hopkinsville, KY, and Boonville, IN
Melvin lived an amazing life always surrounded by his family and Friends. He was loved and adored by so many. He will be fiercely missed!
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 15th from 2-4 pm at Mt. Olive General Baptist Church, 4377 Hwy. 261 Newburgh, IN 47630
