Melvin R. Doran

Melvin "Mugsy" R. Doran, 69, of Joppa, MD, passed away on February 21, 2015 at his home. Born in Bel Air, MD, he was the son of the late Richard John Doran Jr. and Ethel Marie Krell Doran. A Harford County resident all of his life, he worked 35 years for Harford County Highways. He loved all John Wayne movies and taking his grandson fishing. Mr. Doran is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lola Mae Ward Doran; son, James "Jimmy" Doran of North East; daughter, Mary Hill and husband, Wayne, of Rockford, IL; brothers, Richard John Doran III and Charles Edward Doran, both of Edgewood; sister, Anna Barbara Brewster of Joppa; grandchildren, Billy Doran, Keith Hill and Donald Hill all of Joppa; and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Graysen Kuhn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Mary Alice Kern and Marie Louise Shifflett. Pallbearers will be Keith Hill, Donald Hill, Billy Doran, George Kern, Marty Kern and Chuck Doran. Honorary pallbearer will be Gene Caldwell.
